A special message from Jill Togawa,
Artistic Director
Dear Friends of Purple Moon,
Many of you are familiar with what
has become an "almost annual"
fundraiser/silent auction for Purple Moon Dance Project.
This year for the first time, The Circle of Purple
Moon Dance Project is coordinating a special event, away
from our home season production to raise important funds
for our activities this year.
Although this is an exciting threshhold
for us to arrive at, and there is much we look forward to,
this is not one of our better funding years. We have
had to make cuts in staff and must really look to our friends
like you to continue to demonstrate support for our work.
We began our Fifteenth(!) anniversary
celebration in July with "Mahina",
which was a tremendous interdisciplinary collaboration at
the Zeum Theatre. We will be continuing the celebration
throughout the year with community dialogues about redefining
'art1, artist salons, and a home season production next
spring that will bring together women artists whose work
inspires and guides us.
Please join us on October 22, 2006
and tell friends about the event too. In keeping with
our 15th anniversary, we are asking for donations at the
door in multiples of $15. More details will follow.
If you can1t make it, please look for upcoming notices
about how you can participate in the auction online and
take a few minutes to read our fall galaxy mailing where
you can renew or begin your membership in one of our Galaxy
rings.
With much aloha and gratitude,
-"be the change that you wish
to see in the world"
