TransMissions is a collaboration of
artists, curated by Artistic Director, Jill Togawa, performing
orginal works by artists of diverse cultures around the
theme of transmitting experience and knowledge across and
between generations.
An evening of dance & music celebrating
ancestral wisdom & spirit:

“A Tribute to Ojii-chan Saburo Sugita:
grandfather/painter/singer/musician/activist”

Frances Sedayao and Jill Togawa –
Collaborative work: “Exploring questions of opening
to life“
- Danza
Xitlalli Mexica Azteca Dance Group
Four generations of Mexica-Azteca ceremonial dance, performing
pieces to honor “community vision” and the
“fire in our hearts to continue traditions.”
- Arisika
Razak & Destiny Arts Youth Performing Company
–
Selected works and new collaborations, including “Tomorrow
is Today, and “We are the Ones We’ve Been
Waiting For.”
- Musical
works by Francis Wong (flute/sax) and Jimmy Biala
(percussion), with Francis’ daughter: Megumi Hatta-Wong
(clarinet) & son, Kenjo Hatta-Wong (drums).
